The Job
Full bathroom renovation for the main family bathroom which included decommissioning and recommissioning the water cylinder. Boarded out the cellar and added flooring and new electrical sockets to make it more of a habitable room.
The Challenges
The bathroom renovation included taking down the existing stud wall separating the bathroom and back bedroom, moving the water cylinder further into the bedroom and then rebuilding the wall in the bedroom thus increasing the square footage of the bathroom to accommodate all the sanitary ware the clients wanted. Individual mosaic tiles were chosen for the floor tiles in the bathroom and the basement works had a height restriction that made the works challenging.
The Solution
Moving the bathroom wall into the bedroom required multiple site visits prior to the works commencing to carry out various measurements and consult on designs with the client and their bathroom designers. It turned out brilliantly with the bathroom a really good size and the back bedroom still being a good double. Our tiler carefully mapped out the individual tiles prior to laying them and created a fantastic Victorian look. The basement works were tricky due to the confirmed space and Mike planned his breaks accordingly.
The verdict
“We recently worked with yoppum on our new bathroom and basement works in June 2024. We’re absolutely delighted with the finished products. The bathroom, for which we had to knock out a wall to extend, looks fantastic and they did a particularly good job on laying our mosaic tiles which are perfect. The basement works is also great – transforming what was a brick cellar space into a functioning storage room. The yoppum guys were timely, to schedule, on budget and tidy after they’ve left. What more could you ask for. Would highly recommend and will be using them again in future!”
